Project 1 : Starchitect
Weightage : 10% of final marks

In this assignment, we were tasked to select our favorite 'starchitect' from the provided list. Our objective was to conduct comprehensive background research about the chosen architect to gain insights into their style, personality, and other relevant aspects.

process (what i've done)

Research and Selection:

  • Choose an architect from the list ( Le Corbusier) .

  • Conduct thorough research on their style and contributions.

Conceptualization and Refinement:

  • Sketch a basic layout on A4, considering composition.

  • Review and adjust the initial sketch for coherence.

Final Poster Composition:

  • Transfer the refined sketch to an A3-size paper for the final composition. Ensure the poster elements are arranged effectively.

Colouring:

  • Choose suitable colouring media based on the desired aesthetic ( water colour ). 

  • Use an appropriate colour palette to capture the essence and express the identity of the architect. Consider thematic connections.

Detailing:

  • Add fine details to enhance the visual appeal of the poster.

  • Pay attention to shading, texture, and other elements that contribute to the overall quality.

Review and Presentation:

  • Review the final poster for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to the design objectives.

  • Prepare the poster for presentation, ensuring it effectively communicates the selected architect's key attributes.

Designing the architect poster was a valuable journey integrating research and creativity. From the initial sketch on A4 to the final A3 composition, I navigated choices in colour and media to capture the architect's essence. Feedback played a key role, emphasising the iterative nature of design and its impact on refining visual communication. In summary, this project enhanced my design skills and underscored the importance of thoughtful decisions in the creative process.
